Welcome to Chronize
The goal of this app is to study the way we interact with time on our mobile devices. To intuitively visualize and navigate trough time itself.
The preparation
Part of the study is also how to maximize efficiency building the app, understanding and optimizing each step of the process. The key steps of the preparation where:
- finding a freelancer.
- publishing a test-app to the google play store.
- defining the scope of the first iteration.
The first iteration
In order to get a feel for working with developers a few timezones away I decided to keep the first iteration super basic. Just one alarm, nothing else. The app can be downloaded here
The current iteration
Right now I’m working on the wireframes for the MVP. Multiple alarms and the basic functionality of the main timeline. You can find the screenshots below or a clickable model here. The key functions of this iteration are:
- Multiple alarms
- The timeline that shows the time until the next alarm as you scroll
- Adding and editing alarms on the timeline
- Making all the pages to test the placement of the buttons & menu
The next iteration
The ultimate goal is to have more users than google calendar. So there are some features that are key to getting there:
- Integrating with your existing calendar.
- Location & habit based reminders.
- Connecting with other users.
- Connecting with other datasources:
- public transport-timetables
- tesla charging station occupation rates
- smart-houses
- weather-stations
- …
In conclusion
There is still a lot of work to be done, but you can only get as high as you aim.
